David Hinton

Education Consultant

David has been a Principal for twenty years in both Primary and Secondary schools, from small rural schools to large urban schools. He has also worked internationally as a Director of a school improvement project in the Middle East. David has presented papers both nationally and internationally. David has a Masters of Human Resource Management (Training and Development) and his areas of expertise include strategic planning, school improvement, leadership development, organisational development, resource management and community school models. David is an accredited school reviewer for the Queensland Department of Education and Training. He is also an Associate Inspector of schools for the Dubai School Inspection Bureau in the United Arab Emirates. As a recently retired Principal, David is very cognisant of current issues and challenges faced by school leaders, their staff and communities.

Sue Hinton

Education Consultant

Sue is passionate about quality teaching and personalised learning, with over 30 years experience working in schools in a range of settings. She has 15 years coaching experience with a particular focus and expertise in literacy. She worked as an Advisory Teacher in the Middle East in government primary and secondary schools, providing expert advice on curriculum planning, best practice teaching and learning, and assessment. Her areas of expertise include teacher mentoring and coaching, literacy planning, and teacher professional learning, but her passion is in reading, writing and spelling. Sue has held a range of leadership responsibilities, which have allowed her to develop the knowledge and skills vital to providing experienced educational advice and support to principals, teachers and school communities. She can work at individual, team or whole school level to optimise student learning opportunities and outcomes and enhance teacher capacity through coaching, professional learning and strategic planning.

Dr Robert Sbaglia

Innovation Coach

Dr. Robert Sbaglia has spent his career in education innovating and empowering others to innovate. With extensive experience in personalised learning, eLearning, differentiation and global learning, Robert has lead major curriculum and pedagogy changes in both primary and secondary schools. A trained cognitive coach, he has more recently focused on enabling innovative practises in others, and is the organiser of TEDxRosalindParkED, a yearly conference for innovative educators within Victoria and beyond. Robert can work with schools to model and enable new initiatives that marry cutting edge practise with academic rigour required by national curricula. Robert was recently awarded Victoria’s “Most Outstanding Secondary Teacher” at the Victorian Education Excellence Awards for his innovative work in personalised learning.






Brian Collins

Leadership Coach

Brian Collins has over 38 years’ experience as an educator with leadership experience across a range of educational settings. He has worked as a teacher, curriculum team leader and principal across both primary and secondary school settings. Brian has worked as a Principal Class Curriculum Consultant to schools with specific skills in literacy, student management, whole curriculum planning and delivery of curriculum through a range of teaching methods. He is well qualified in the practical use of appropriate data to guide school planning. For twelve years Brian worked in executive positions with the Victorian Education Department in Australia as a Regional Principal Consultant and Assistant Regional Director. Brian has an experienced practical approach to school and system improvement. He is an informative and entertaining presenter who was awarded a Fellowship to the Australian Council of Educational Leaders in 2007.

Our consultants have a wide variety of skill sets including: classroom teaching, student management, leadership support and development, strategic planning, organisational development, financial management support, community development, open plan learning styles, literacy, numeracy, primary education experts, secondary education experts and subject specific expertise. All our consultants have been selected personally by EDTAC Australia for their expertise and consultancy skills. They have all had extensive teaching and leadership experience in a wide variety of school settings, including coaching qualifications.
